Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has assured that all the problems that have come up following the implementation of the double track system will be dealt with immediately by the government.

According to him, the system which has given children especially in deprived areas the opportunity to elite schools is a blessing in disguise.

The Double-Track System is to create room to absorb more students into SHSs, thus increasing enrolment, reduce class sizes, increase contact hours and increase the number of holidays, and would be achieved with the existing infrastructure.

But parents don’t seem to understand the system since most children would have to wait for some months.

But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, Dr. Adutwum said there is no cause for alarm.

He explained that the double track system has worked successfully elsewhere, therefore, the decision by government was not out of the blues.

The Deputy Education Minister said the system has given opportunity to the about 180,000 students who would not have gotten admissions into schools in September.

Dr. Adutwum expressed government’s determination to work tirelessly with all stakeholders to address the challenges of the double track Senior High School system.

He called on Ghanaians to stop the apprehension of the double Track System and make meaningful suggestions that would enhance its successful implementation and effectiveness of the system.

  1. This is the right thing to do. A strong educated and less CORRUPT environment will bring FDI !!!! ADDA is doing what is right even if it is painfull at first and Ghanaian business men and women know this is right. All the other emerging markets have implemented similar planning and look at them now, sika bebree!!!!!!!!

  2. Eastern regional education director is giving a mandate not to employ teachers with sandwich and distance certificate. Why should this be so?
    Who gave the accreditation in the first place.
    Oooohhhh Ghana.
