Former Asante Kotoko player and Coach, Frimpong Manso, has attributed the club’s CAF Confederations Cup group stage exit to unpardonable blunders by the defenders.
The Porcupine Warriors, needed a win to qualify for the quarterfinals, but threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to ZESCO United in Zambia.
According to Manso on Asempa FM, some of the goals the team conceded would have given them some points if they were prevented.
“Their defensive problem started from day one; assuming
“The problem started with their initial pair; Abdul Ismail Ganiyu, and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Wahab Adams also came in but the problem could not solve,” he observed.
“There were other factors but I think their defensive problem was what took them out,” he added.
The Porcupine Warriors finished third in the Group behind Al Hilal and Nkana FC.
