The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been closed down indefinitely, following violent protests by some students on Thursday.
Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, announced the closure when he visited the school.

The decision was reached after a meeting between school authorities and the Central Regional Security Council.
He said the Winneba and Ejumako campuses have been closed down until the issues are resolved.
Mr Duncan said all students including student leaders should vacate the campus premises by 6:00 pm.
