Former Hearts of Oak chairman, Harry Zakkour, has taken a swipe at the government over their recent Black Stars Management Committee appointment.
The Government in collaboration with the Normalisation Committee (NC) announced a new management committee for the senior national team, the Black Stars, ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, the Lebanese-born business mogul in an interview with Asempa Sports condemned the fact that the list is full of politicians.
He has described the composition as a clear case of interference by the government, noting that such an appointment is supposed to come from the federation instead.
“It’s wrong for the government to appoint those people; such appointments are supposed to come from GHALCA. I can say it’s a political appointment, they should leave it for the federation to appoint their own people,” he stated.
Below is the list of the Black Stars Management Committee.
Dr. Desmond Kofi Koduah Sarpong (CEO, GNPC) – Chairman
Perry Okudzeto (Hon. Deputy MoYS) – Vice
Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye (Deputy Chief of Staff) – Member
Madam Abena Osei Asare (Deputy Finance Finance) – Member
Ibrahim Sunday (former Ghanaian footballer) – Member
The five-member committee has been mandated to supervise the activities of the Black.
