A flagbearer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah says all indications from the party’s branch and regional level elections point to a move for change within the party’s set up.

He believes that high demand by the grassroots members to remove all old executives who supervised the party’s abysmal performance in the 2016 presidential elections makes him the best bet for the party’s flagbearership slot.

“There is a tsunami in the NDC which is blowing leaders away and that is why I believe it’s now my time. Only two out of ten Regional Chairmen who declared support for Mahama were re-elected” he claimed.

“The fact that people know you doesn’t mean that they necessarily want you. The fact that you are well known doesn’t mean you are the most acceptable,” he added.

More than 11 persons have so far expressed their interest in leading the NDC into the 2020 elections.

He says the party doesn’t need a mere Flagbearer but someone Ghanaians would appreciate and vote for like himself.
