Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency, Samuel George Nettey who was assaulted during the Ayawaso West Wougon by-elections has been blamed for his predicament.

MP for Ablekuma Central, Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful said her colleague behaved like “Robocop” during his altercation with the National Security personnel at the La Bawaleshie polling centre during Thursday’s by-election.

Sam George received some dirty slaps for allegedly challenging a security personnel who had stormed the residence of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wougon, Delali Kwesi Brempong.

The security personnel clothed in khaki trousers and national security shirts confronted the Ningo-Prampram MP for ‘hurling insults at him’.

The National Security Operative after verbal exchanges with Sam George gave him some dirty slaps. His conduct has been condemned by many who have called on the police to deal with the matter.

Commenting on the issue on Adom FM, Ursula Owusu Ekuful said Sam George got what he bargained for.

She explained that, the violence that ensued during the by-elections is a ploy by the NDC to mar the elections.

Ursula Owusu maintained that, the NDC has no moral right to complain when they are being given a dose of their own medicine.

She cited how an NDC MP ordered for her to be beaten at Odododiodoo during a registration exercise without any provocation to buttress his point.

Ursula Owusu stressed that, the opposition party which has so much hope in their vigilante group called for violence and government responded in equal measure.
