The feuding between the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Odododiodio Constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman and the incumbent MP for the area, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye appears to have escalated, with Nii Lante Bannerman is threatening to take legal action against the MP for assault.

This follows a clash between the two candidates and their supporters during which gunshots were recorded.

Three people are said to have sustained injuries as a result of the shooting and are receiving treatment at the hospital, while three members of NPP were also arrested and later released in connection with the incident.

Following the clashes, Mr. Vanderpuye alleged that the New Patriotic Party candidate for Odododiodio, Nii Lante Bannerman, masterminded the attacks on NDC supporters that escalated into the clashes at a rally at Jamestown, in the constituency.

According to him, Mr Bannerman had organised some young men to attack his team members with guns, machetes and other weapons.

Mr. Bannerman in the meantime alleges that the MP Vanderpuye accosted and attacked him at his residence in James Town on Wednesday morning, slapping him at least twice.

Though he has reported the issue to the police, Nii Lante Bannerman in an interview with Adom News said since he was attacked physically by the incumbent MP, he has decided to seek redress legally.

Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Police Command has indicated that Nii Lante Vanderpuye is yet to honour an invitation sent to him by the police over the issue.
