National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has spoken on the attack he received from a fellow panellist at the studio of Asempa FM.

According to him, inasmuch as he felt the happening was unfortunate, he holds no grudge against Nana B and has forgiven him hence, he needs no apology from Nana B.

“I have forgiven Nana B from the bottom of my heart so I need no apology from him. I hold no grudge against him. I have forgiven him,” he stated.

Mr Gyamfi also served notice that no form of intimidation would silence members of his party.

“We believe in Ghana and our democracy. Our commentaries on air are our belief and so no form of intimidation will silence us. We will fight for our party because that is what the NDC stands for,” he stated.

Mr Gyamfi was allegedly slapped by the National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) during a radio show which was also being shown on Facebook Live on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Videos of the incident which has since gone viral on social media show Nana B pushing Mr Gyamfi’s head during a heated moment on the leading political talk show on Asempa FM.

Nana B has since apologized to Ghanaians for the incidence.

According to Nana B, regardless of the provocative conduct of Mr Gyamfi which included unacceptable verbal attacks on the President, he should not have responded violently.

He says he is yet to meet Mr Gyamfi and apologise to him personally to ensure peace between them.

Speaking on Adom FM‘s morning show Dwaso Nsem Monday, Sammy Gyamfi said for the sake of records and based on advice from party leaders, he has reported the matter to the police.
