A communications team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is alleging the 2016 campaign of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) was heavily funded by homosexuals.
Kweku Boahen claims the NPP government is finding it difficult to state its stance on homosexuality because it pledged massive support for the lesbians, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) community should it win the election.

The Akufo-Addo government has come under pressure following a call on African leaders by UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, to overhaul “outdated” anti-gay laws in their respective countries.
She said the UK as a colonial master deeply regrets its role in the legacy of violence and discrimination.
Based on this renewed call, citizens are apprehensive and want the President to state, in clear terms, Ghana’s position on homosexuality.

But on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Thursday, Kweku Boahen said the NPP is working assiduously to legalize homosexuality in the country.
He alleged that some gay right activists have been trooping to the Jubilee House to ensure President Akufo-Addo fulfills his promise to them.
“Two world acclaimed gays had a meeting with President Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House so I’m convinced he can never say anything to oppose it. I will quit politics if he [Nana] speaks on this matter”, he opined.
