Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum says it is unclear when students of Chereponi would resume school.
He says consultation is on-going with security agencies for clearance to allow for students to return.
“The safety of the children is very important to us, we can’t allow the children to go to school until we know the conflict to be resolved,” he stated.
Two ethnic groups, Konkonbas and Chokosis in the Chereponi District of Northern Region have engaged in violence since the year began and has claimed four (4) lives and fifteen (15) villages in ashes.
The Minister says until peace returns in the area, children will stay home to guarantee their safety.
