A National Democratic Congress Flagbearer aspirant, Professor Joshua Alabi is convinced of victory in Saturday’s primaries despite former President John Dramani Mahama being widely tipped as the favorite.

He believes his campaign message, which focuses on transformation of the party from the grassroots to the top will win him the enviable slot.

This according to him has been widely accepted by members of the party who will not be intimidated to vote for a particular candidate.

He is warning against any attempt by National Executives to scheme for a ‘weak’ candidate he likened to a child who always wants fathers to do homework.

“I always say that if you have two children; they come back from school with homework and the other child is able to do it without any help whiles the other is always asking you the father’s help, then you should know that child is weak. Why send a weak candidate [to elections],” he quizzed.

Mr. Alabi was speaking on Adom FM’s morning show “Dwaso Nsem” Friday.

Prof. Alabi and six others are hoping to be elected on Saturday to lead the NDC into 2010 polls.

According to him, he is not scared by the presence of former president Mahama in the flagbearship contest as he promised to transform Ghana into a financial hub for Africa.
