President Akufo-Addo delivering the 2019 State of the Nation Address revealed government is set to construct ten new Technical and Vocational Institutes in the country.

According to him, this will help young people in the country to acquire skills to reach their full potential and put them on par with peers in other countries.

“Poverty should not be an excuse for any Ghanaian child not to reach their potential. Young people ought to have options on their career paths so construction of 10 new TVET centres will take place this year. We are sparing any effort to make education in Ghana of the best quality and fit for the 21st century.”

The Ghanaian educational system has been criticised to be more theoretical than practical and this move, if implemented by the government, will enable more young people to acquire skills to make a living.
