The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has revealed how President Akufo-Addo, through a bauxite company, received $2bn through the Sinohydro deal which is being used to construct roads in the country.
Mr Boadu has asserted that but for the timely intervention of his party, former President John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama would have benefitted alone from the country’s bauxite.

According to him, unlike the former President who decided to hand over the bauxite resource to his brother, President Akufo-Addo is using it to construct roads in the country.
“When we came to power, we realised that Mr Mahama and his brother wanted to personally benefit from the bauxite resource of the country but through Akufo-Addo, we managed to use that same resource and received $2bn through the Sinohydro deal which is being used to construct roads in the country.

“If not for Akuf-Addo’s intervention, Mahama and his brother would have taken charge of the industry but because we came to power we ensured that the bauxite industry benefited us through roads and bridges which is being enjoyed by Ghanaians now,” he said on Peace FM’s ‘The Platform’ programme monitored by Adomonline.com.
