Parents of the 17-year-old final year student of Achimota Senior High School, Lily Dzigbordi Asigbetse who died in Tema reported dead after she was allegedly hit by a stray firecracker says the teenager died from a gunshot wound.
Uncle of the deceased, Emmanuel Donkor said, this niece would have survived if the truth was told earlier at the hospital by the parents of the suspect.
“Her [the suspect’s] parents lied to us that it is a firecracker. Now they confirmed it is a gun. The lie caused the death of the kid because the doctors were unaware. If they knew, they would have treated her from a different angle” he bemoaned.
Mr. Donkor in an interview on Adom News said the case was sent to the Accra District Magistrate Court and has since been transferred to the Attorney General office for direction.
