A form two student of Akwatia Technical Institute in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region has stabbed a teacher with a pair of scissors, leaving the victim with a life-threatening wound.

The student allegedly committed the crime after the teacher, one Mr Sakyi, a teacher-on-duty instructed him to stop loitering about and go to his classroom.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Owusu in an interview with the media said the teacher, after the attack, was rushed to the St. Dominic Hospital for treatment while the suspect, Edward Darkwah, has been arrested by the Akwatia Police Command to help with investigations.

He said the teacher was responding to treatment and is in a stable condition, adding that he’s unable to state if the teacher will press charges against the student for injuring him.

Meanwhile, the school authorities have summoned the parents of the student over the incident.
