Some aggrieved supporters of the flag-bearer aspirants of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Goosie Tanoh have expressed disappointment in the conduct of some ‘big wigs’ in the party.
According to them, they have been receiving telephone calls from some top officials of the party asking them to abandon their candidate and support former President John Mahama.
Campaign Coordinator for Goosie Tanor’s team, Mawuyiram Asai who claimed to have received several calls from some top men in the party accused them of scheming for Mr. Mahama to win the party’s upcoming presidential primary slated for Saturday, February 23,2019.

He said the same concerns were confirmed by some branch executives in the Central Region who said these men always call and intimidate them, warning them to stop campaigning for Goosie Tanoh.
“Some big wigs in our party are now serial callers for Mahama. Because they have taken money from Mahama, they are always calling us to warn us not to vote for Goosie and rather vote for Mahama. They have even promised to give JM 90 per cent vote in the elections. Now regional chairmen are lions and it’s just a disgrace” he said on Accra based Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

But Mawuyiram Asai has vowed to resist any attempt by the big men to force a candidate on them.
He said for the NDC to move forward in the future, the party needs a new leader.
