Commander Rear of 1st Infantry Battalion of the Ghana Army at Michel Camp, Major Daniel Ampadu has stated that the military will continue to collaborate with police to provide security.
He said through Operation Calm Life, security agencies including police and the military will ensure that the spate of crime is reduced.
Operation Calm Life came into being some months ago to augment already existing security measures.

Major Ampadu made this known in an interview with Adom News after an endurance walk done at least thrice a year to show force and readiness.
“We are ready and willing to protect residents in communities in which we operate from any form of aggression”, he said.
The over 3-hour exercise started at their base at Michel Camp, then through some streets within Ashaiman and Tema.

Apart from the physical and mental benefits of the exercise, it also afforded some soldiers posted to Michel Camp to know their boundaries.
Major Daniel Ampadu maintains that Operation Calm Life has been successful.
“Per feedback we get from the public, I believe it has been successful”, he stated.

Meanwhile, Major Daniel Ampadu believes endurance walk such as this brings the soldiers together and build confidence in the public.
“Our exercises and presence in the community go a long way to build confidence in the public. It is important for them to know that they are safe in their day-to-day activities”, he reiterated.
