Ten people have been confirmed dead in a gory accident on the Suhum/Nsawam road in the Eastern region.
According to reports, the accident occurred at Teacher Mante, a town near Suhum Thursday.
A resident in the town, Jesse Amankwah in an interview on Adom News said a driver of a cargo vehicle with GT1624 F from Kumasi to Accra collided head-on with a VIP bus with registration number TE2393-10 heading to Kumasi resulting in the crash.
He noted that, the deceased include eight females, a man and a one year old baby.
The other four passengers in the VIP bus who survived, Jesse sustained serious injuries.
Jesse added that, the driver of the cargo vehicle loaded with cassava and fish had his hand cut off and was also rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, those injured are receiving treatment at the Suhum government hospital and the deceased deposited at the same hospital morgue.
