Host of Adom FM’s morning show, Captain Smart, says he will never allow his children to watch Ghanaian movies acted in twi, popularly known as Kumawood movies.
According to him, Kumawood movies are full of insults and he sees it as irresponsible parenting to allow his children to watch such movies.

He said this when reacting to claims by popular Kumawood actor, Bill Asamoah, that complacency on the part of players in the local movie industry collapsed the one-time vibrant industry.
Contrary to the assertion by some stakeholders that the industry suffered because of the erratic power outages that engulfed the nation for not less than three years, as well as piracy and the influx of telenovelas on Ghanaian TV channel, Bill Asamoah believes that complacency is the major bane.

But speaking on Day Break Hitz on Hitz FM, the vociferous presenter said that Kumawood movies are done in a rush and as such, lack the quality needed to sustain the industry.
He also bemoaned the high level of insults in the movies.
“I will never allow my six-year old and my nine-year kids to watch Kumawood movies because they are full of insults” he said emphatically.

  2. I agree with Captain Smart 100%. I always talk about how bad and dirty words which always come out from Liwin,it would spoil our children. Liwin always utter filthy words during his acting on movies and he should stop because children are always watching and listen to him. Thanks Captain for saying this.

Dont watch what the insult, bad stratagic words or vulger words used, the aim is to make it and so when you come accross such scene and you think you are more affected negatively with, call upon the manager to manage things well for not repeating it next time but to declare kumawood as nothing to be watch i dont think you are making the right statement please
