He won with 523 votes.

There were reports that delegates were induced with goodies such as cash, gas cookers, shoes, mobile phones among others.

Some delegates and their constituencies, according to reports, received as much as 500 dollars to vote for a particular candidate while another candidate shared tricycles to the youth delegates to influence them to vote his way.

But reacting to the reports, Mr Opare Addo refuted the allegations.

“I didn’t involve myself in vote buying. I never gave out anything to the delegates. Let me truthful to you that the only thing I gave to delegates was branded food and water with my name and photo on them. A company in Accra sponsored that and I wouldn’t’ want to mention the name of the company” he said on Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

“If some people used my name to campaign and give out goodies, then I know nothing about it. I never gave any of these,” he explained.

He said he was focused on ensuring that the NDC wrestles power from the NPP.
