About four schools in the Fanteakwa North District in the Eastern Region now study with electronic gadgets after receiving 504 digitized Sumsung tablets and four projectors from World Vision Ghana.

The four schools that benefitted were Salvation Army School at Abompe, Islamic Basic School at Abompe, Bosuso Primary School and Bososu Presby Primary School.

The digitized tablets are fitted with education material suitable for every class at the primary level and each pupil has a unique code to access the tablets.

World Vision has also constructed a 6-unit classroom block at Bosuso, with a community library.

They also provided training for some teachers on how to effectively apply the electronic gadgets to teaching and learning.

Head of Education Program at World Vision Ghana, Andrew Ofosu Dankyi told Adom News reporter, Kwame Kulenu that, absenteeism is very high in rural school due to poor teaching and learning so they have made it as their duty to support such schools to boost their confidence in education.

Head teachers for Salvation Army, Bosuso Primary and Bosuso Presby said after they received the items teaching and learning has become fun and enrolment has increased from 250 to 350.

Some teachers said pupils’ reading ability is fast improving and the training given to the teachers has also helped in assisting children to derive maximum benefit from the gadgets.

Some of the pupils, who spoke with Adom News said they had difficulties pronouncing some words, but the tablets now help them to get the right pronunciation.
