Tamale based hip-life artiste, Fancy Gadam has schooled ‘One Corner’ hitmaker, Patapaa Amisty on what it takes to win the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’ award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Fancy Gadam born as Ahmed Mujahid Bello won the ‘Most popular song of the year and the Hiplife song of the year with his “Total Cheat” tune.
After the awards ceremony, many people on social media have chastised organisers of the awards event of cheating Patapaa as they believe his ‘one corner’ hit song deserved to win the “song of the year” award ahead of “Total Cheat” by Fancy Gadam.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Monday, however, Fancy Gadam disagreed with the sentiments, insisting his song was more popular than one corner.
According to Fancy, he knows he has a bigger and loyal fan base that will, at all cost, vote to see him crowned the winner hence Patapaa should have paid attention to his homework.

“I was 100 percent sure I was going to win. I know my fans are loyal. It’s Ghana Music Awards. If you sitting in your one corner, doing your thing, I am also in my one corner doing mine too. It’s about numbers. My fans support me. I am from the zongo and Zongos are in every capital…”
Fancy Gadam insisted that it would have amounted to cheating if he lost the award to Patapaa Amisty.
“If I didn’t win, I would have said they have cheated. It’s a popularity contest. If you’re popular and I am, your fan base will tell”, he told Andy Dosty.
