A week dominated by controversies was finally brought to a close with a musical feast at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Numerous musicians from far and near gathered at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) to celebrate talents that have blossomed in the music industry in the last 12 months.
Although the biggest aim of the night was to present awards to deserving artistes, “fashion police” could not resist the chance to bring their expertise to the fore, even if uninvited.

While some of the celebs appeared in dapper outfits and presented themselves well, others came in weird dresses that one would find very difficult to comprehend.
Our focus, though, is on what our celebs wore for this year’s VGMA and you would do well to appreciate the fashion sense of some of our local stars.

MCs for the night were Berla Mundi and John Dumelo and the red carpet was hosted by Johnnie Hughes and Amanda Jissih.
There were many performances on the night including a thrilling performance from Fancy Gadam.
Gadam came on stage wearing a smock. A clever way to portray his culture, a move that was followed by a performance worth the night on which his “Totally Cheat” song was controversially declared the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year” ahead of Patapaa’s “One Corner”.
