Police in the Wa Municipality has begun investigations after a young man was shot dead Friday night by unknown assailants.
Police the man, identified as Wakilu was shot dead en route to Yaru from Busa.
The brother of the deceased, Ibrahim Sahara told police they were both on a Tricycle from Busa to Yaru in the Wa East District when the incident happened.
Narrating to the police, he said at about 10 PM while on the road some unidentified people stopped them but he refused to stop and moved on since it was late.
After moving a few meters, he said one of the unidentified persons shot at his brother and he fell off from the tricycle.
Ibrahim said he then rushed to a nearby village and informed some of the residents to help him send his brother to the hospital for treatment only for him to be pronounced dead at the Wa Regional Hospital.
The has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy
