Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and a director of Accra Great Olympics Fred Pappoe, says he has what it takes to run Ghana Football.
The Olympics however believes that not just anyone qualifies to occupy the prestigious position.
This comes after the current GFA Vice President, George Afriyie, officially declared his intention to contest for FA Presidency in the 2019 elections.
Speaking to Asempasports, Mr. Pappoe who has been tipped as a possible candidate to succeed current President, Kwesi Nyantakyi failed to hit the nail right in the head when asked of his plans to be in the football driving seat.
“It’s not a matter of you being capable, it is matter of the electorates saying they want you because you can’t just get up and go and sit in that seat”.
”In terms of being capable, I’m sure there are a lot of people who are capable but I don’t think I’m incapable”.
”Like many other people who are capable, I think I’m also one of them but at the end of the day it’s not a matter of capabilities but [it’s] what the electorates want that matters”, he added.
Fred Pappoe occupied several top positions during his time at the FA.
He was the management chairman of the senior national team, the Black Stars, the CHAN team, as well as serving on the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

  1. Uncle Fred is more than capable of running the GFA.He has been there before Nyantakyi moved in and rose to that position he is now.
Each and everyone should give Uncle Fred their full support if he finally intends to contest in 2019.
