Below is their press statement:
ADDRESS BY REGIONAL PRESIDENT REV PETER A. DODOO ON THE TAKEOVER OF THE PUBLIC TOILET BUILT BY THE SUSU COLLECTORS AT ABOSSEY OKAI, BEHIND LAMPTEY MILLS SCHOOL IN THE GREATER ACCRA REGION- 21ST FEBRUARY 2018
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen of the press, I wish to bring to your attention, a public toilet and bath house built by Susu collectors numbering over one hundred and fifty members (150) within Greater Accra in 1997 which was taken over by the NPP youth from the zongo community at AbosseyOkai, behind Lamptey Mills School on 7th January 2017.
The land on which the facility was built was leased to the society by Ablekuman Central Sub-Metro of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, in 1995 to finance the construction of the public toilet and bathhouse on Build Operate and Transfer basis for ten (10) years.  Since the facility was built as the society’s social intervention, we could not recoup our investment hence the agreement was renewed for another ten (10) years which is currently running until the year 2020. The net proceeds from the facility were shared between the Sub-Metro and society on 30% and 70% basis.
Unfortunately on the 7th of January 2017, the NPP youth from the zongo community leadby one AbubakariKarimaka (Saliki) hasforcibly taken over the day to day administration of the facility saying ‘’their government has come to power’’. The matter was reported to the Kaneshie police, there was an arrest on two occasions but the constituency executives of NPP came to bail the person with promise that the matter would be resolved amicably between the society and the youth at the sub-metro office of which the society obliged. On three occasionsthe meetings were held but without any conclusion.

I have personally spoken to the MP for the constituency to intervene, but all to no avail. As we address you this day the youth are still there.
We want to place on record that all these years the society has been fulfilling its financial responsibilities by paying the monthly ground rent to the sub-metro without any default.
It is our believe that some members of the party within the constituency and the sub-metro office are aiding the said Abubakari Karim to subvert the agreement with the society.
By this press conference, we want the public and the government to know that the youth within the constituency have taken over a toilet and bath house facility constructed with contributions of Susu collectors in Greater Accra region forcefully without any provocation.
Finally, we are appealing to the government to intervene with immediate effect and give back our toilet and bath house facility to us. The next line of action may not be that cordial.
Thank you
