A 14-year-old class 6 pupil of Asenda Basic School in Ellembele District of the Western Region has been allegedly raped by four men.
The victim, whose mother narrated her ordeal to Axim-based Ankobra FM, said the men, aged between 17 and 35 gave her a drink suspected to have been mixed with an unknown substance when she attended a program at Bobrama, a town in the Ellembelle District on Monday January 15.

According to her, she woke up the following morning outside their house with severe pains and blood stains all over her genital area.
For fear of being reprimanded by her mother, she reported the incident to a friend of her mother who later reported the incident to the Police with her mother.

The mother of the victim, whose name was only given as Maa Gifty, said the parents of three of the suspects in the evening of Monday January 22, visited her family to resolve the issue amicably but their plea was rejected, explaining that she further directed the parents of the three to come with the 35-year-old suspect who is alleged to have masterminded the act, before they would be given a hearing.

She also alleged that the hospital where she initially took her daughter demanded GHC200 from her before tests could be conducted on her.
According to Maa Gifty, even though they have reported the case to the police, they are yet to receive any response from them.
They are therefore appealing to the Ellembelle District Police and the Western regional Police Command to get the victim justice by arresting the suspects.
