The Nima Police station has confirmed that, Hearts of Oak have officially lodged a complaint against one of their officials, Joshua Acquah who is currently under investigation
for match fixing allegations.

Supritendent Paul Mensah Bampoe who disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Sports nite show Thursday said they have begun investigations in to the matter.

“I cannot say it is a bribery allegation or not; neither can I expose the complainant. I can’t say the outcome will be available today or tomorrow but at the appropriate time, the police will come out with their findings”.

Supt. Bampoe assured supporters of Accra Heart Oak of a thorough investigation to ensure the culprits are brought to book.

A member of Hearts Oak, Aziz Haruna Futa earlier this week stated that, there is corruption and gambling in Hearts of Oak; and it is being masterminded by  Joshua Acquah who is in charge of Heats of Oak’s operations.

According to him, Acquah has been conniving with referees and a betting company to manipulate results of Hearts of Oak matches to the detriment of the club.

This caused a stir in the club and left management no other choice than to report the matter to the police.
