Ghanaian and African businesses will be seizing the chance to boost trade opportunities with the UK during the GUBA Greenwich Trade Expo this week.

The three-day event taking place in south-east London from Friday June 15 to Sunday kicks off with a seminar and business advice sessions, followed by an outdoor exhibition and market in Woolwich’s main General Gordon Square featuring a host of African products and services.

The Trade Expo provides a showcase for the wealth of African goods now being produced by the continent enabling a global audience to see the breadth of opportunity available.

This event’s primary focus is on African entrepreneurs helping them access mainstream British markets.

And with economic changes looming triggered by Brexit, there’s general agreement now’s the time for traders to explore and forge new partnerships.

GUBA Expo founder Dentaa Amoateng commented: “GUBA has been at the forefront of promoting increased economic and cultural links between the UK and Ghana and the expo is another opportunity for British businesses and individuals to increase their exposure to opportunities in Ghana.”

The first day of the expo will be held in the Stephen Lawrence Building Lecture Theatre 101, University of Greenwich. The seminar is divided into interactive workshops, panel discussions, drop-in and one to one sessions will also be available. Industry leaders, experts, established businesses and organisations will be given the platform to speak about their work and offer advice.
Topics include: exporting and Brexit, customer service, pitching/branding, generating earnings, business finance, why social media matters, business and the law.

The second and third days will be a chance for businesses to exhibit their products or services in a vibrant outdoor African Market with clothing, accessories, home décor essentials and much more.

The outdoor exhibition is free and procurement experts and wholesale buyers from major outlets will also sample products, interact and provide advice.
