Doctors and management at the Nsawkaw Government Hospital, in the Brong Ahafo Region have expressed frustrations about the invasion of bed bugs at the facility which is affecting health care.
District Director of Health Services, Dr. Micheal Agyei Rockson invasion is due to the congestion at the facility because of lack of beds.
He noted that, the children wards and the emergency unit are the worst affected thus have been compelled them to reduce the number of days patients have to spend at the hospital.
The doctor says the maximum number of days in- patient spend at the hospital has reduced to two days.
He revealed this in an interview with Adom News during the District Health Directorate’s review meeting.
Dr. Michael Agyei Rockson bemoaned the staffing challenges facing healthcare delivery in the District.
However, the District Chief Executive for Tain, Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommor pledges the Tain District Assembly’s commitment to solving the staff accommodation challenges of the service in the District.
She welcomed the support from Birim Gold Fields and called on other corporate institutions to come to the aid of the health directorate.
