The National Tomatoes Traders and Transporters Association (NTTTA) are raising red flags over the volume of tomato imports into the country from neighbour country, Burkina Faso.
Between 50 to 60 heavy duty truck loads of tomato is imported daily from landlocked Burkina Faso into Ghana.
The NTTTA is alarmed by the situation and wants government to take steps to reverse the trend.
President of the association, Eric Osei Tufour, attributes the situation to the collapse of irrigation facilities, especially, in Northern Ghana.
