Some teachers at the Bolgatanga Nursing Training College in the Upper East Region have been transferred after a fallout with the Ministry of Health over allegations of embezzlement of funds by the school’s Principal and Accountant.
Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah said the decision had become necessary to protect the interests of the students at the school as the impasse between the principal and the tutors was obstructing teaching and learning.

She intimated that, the high level of indiscipline demonstrated by some of the tutors after engagements with the ministry warranted the hard decision, saying the action would serve the interest of the ministry and the school.

Tutors of the school locked up the office of the school’s principal, for embezzlement through the violation of procurement procedures and refused to resume work till he steps aside.
In light of this, the ministry has assigned a new principal and additional teachers to the school to boost academic work in the school.
