Persons living with albinism are on cloud nine following the lifting of a three–year ban placed on Human Rights lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu.
According to them, as their legal counsel, the ban impeded Sosu’s ability to send their cases to court.
The Human Rights Court presided over by Justice Gifty Agyei-Addo on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 set-aside the orders of the General Legal Council (GLC) suspending private legal practitioner Francis-Xavier Sosu.

The court also set-aside the one-year mentorship imposed by the GLC on Mr. Sosu, renowned for his human rights advocacy.
This was after the Council found him guilty of professional misconduct contrary to the code regulating legal practice in the country.
But when he challenged the decision in court, he was cleared with the General Legal Council directed to reinstate him.

Speaking on Adom News, President of the Association of Persons Living with Albinism, Newton Katseku said they were elated at the court decision.
He explained that Lawyer Sosu as one of their Board members will help them to advance their fight for the rights of Albinos in the country.
Newton Katseku added that they knew the Human Rights advocate was wrongly charged and would be vindicated one day.
