A 24-year-old drivers’ mate who allegedly sexually abused a five year old girl in an uncompleted wooden structure at Teiman has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

Ebenezer Adjei charged with indecent assault, pleaded not guilty.

Adjei is expected to reappear on August 20 before the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Judith B. Asante told the court that the complainant is a driver residing at Teiman, near Adenta with his daughter who is the victim in the case.

Prosecution said Adjei also resides within the same vicinity with the complainant and the victim.

On July 24, this year, at about 1830 hours the victim, a Kindergarten One pupil was playing games with her peers in front of their house when Adjei lured the victim to an uncompleted wooden structure situated about 150 meters away from her house undressed the victim and was in the process to insert his penis into the victim’s vagina when a witness spotted him and raised an alarm.

The prosecution said the accused was arrested and escorted to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Unit (DOVVSU) at the Adenta Police Station.

A medical report form was issued to the complainant to seek treatment for the victim at any government hospital.
