Veteran musician Daddy Lumba and actor Agya Koo are set to launch their television platforms soon.
The launch of the platforms, which will run on mobile phones, was made known by Catherine Afeku, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
The two entertainment personalities, who are tourism ambassadors, the Minister revealed, are launching the television platforms for mobile phones in their names, Daddy Lumba TV and Agya Koo TV respectively.

Madam Afeku, speaking at the Meet the Press at the Information Ministry, on Monday, said the launch of the platforms are part of efforts to promote local content.
According to her, they are “in the business of placing Ghanaian content at the disposal of viewers throughout the world and the artistes are signed on to produce popular content, including already existing content, that will run as a series in the name of the artistes and it is already showing on most of the mobile phones.”

She revealed that, “this Sunday [February 4] at the Accra Mall, we are launching Agya Koo TV. It’s a mobile TV platform that will be in an effort to promote local content.”
The sector Minister also said her Ministry has already secured a television license to commence a tourism channel to help promote local tourism.
She said her Ministry will support the private sector to launch and operate the channel.
