Residents of sexually suggestive towns in the Abirem Constituency of the Eastern Region say their hope of being connected to the national grid has been dashed following the dismissal of Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.

The residents of the towns which include “Kote Ye Aboa,” [penis is wile and “Etwe nim Nyansa” [vagina is wise] were hoping to see electricity soon after the Member of Parliament Abirem constituency, John Frimpong Osei rose to ask the Energy Minister a question about the connection of some communities in his constituency to the national grid.

The immediate past Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko responded that the Ministry will soon conduct a survey to ascertain the best way to get the communities connected to the national grid.

But he could not stay in office long enough to fulfill his promise due to his decision to revise the controversial AMERI power deal.

President Akufo-Addo on Monday August 6, 2018 sacked Boakye Agyarko after he was allegedly misled to sign the deal.

Speaking to Adom News, Chief of Akyem Kotoku Mponua, Dr. Nana Boakye Darkwa said they are really disappointed in the President’s decision.

He said the people of Kote Ye Aboa,” and “Etwe nim Nyansa were really looking forward to having electricity as promised by Agyarko.

Nana Boakye Darkwa appealed to whoever succeeds Boakye Agyarko not to abandon plans to connect them to the national grid.
