Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has named two government institutions he claims are discrediting the Akufo-Addo government.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday, the NPP MP said the activities of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is sabotaging the government in a bid to make it unpopular.

Using himself as an example, the controversial MP accused the two institutions of charging unnecessary and high electricity bills.

“There are two institutions that are discrediting everything the government is doing and we have to be careful about them. They are ECG and GWCL.

They sit in their comfortable office and bill us without even cross checking” he said.

Describing the activities of these two as a naked robbery, he said Ghanaians are disappointed in the government because of these two institutions.

“This is indeed naked robbery. What annoys me is that after paying the water and light bills, some officials still come and disconnect my light. Ghanaians are indeed disappointed in them” he cried.

Mr. Agyapong is urging government to immediately monitor the activities of these two institutions before they bring the NPP government down.
